Hysteria (2011)
Londra 1880. Il giovane Mortimer Granville è un dottore che lotta per far passare le nuove scoperte scientifiche negli ambulatori e negli ospedali gestiti da vecchi medici fedeli a convinzioni errate ed obsolete. In cerca di un nuovo impiego dopo l'ennesimo licenziamento, lo trova presso il dottor Dalrymple, specializzato nella cura "manuale" dell'isteria che affligge buona parte delle signore di Londra e si manifesta variamente con tristezza, irritabilità, pianto frequente o incontenibile rabbia. Innamorato della seconda figlia di Dalrymple, Emily, e osteggiato dalla primogenita Charlotte, che lo vorrebbe dedito a malattie più serie, Mortimer si ritroverà letteralmente fra le mani l'idea del secolo, durante una visita al suo amico e benefattore Edmund, un appassionato di congegni elettrici.
