A Londra uno scrittore ama una donna sposata. La love story dopo un bombardamento finisce. Lui non capisce perché la donna non vuol più vederlo. Lo capirà quando lei ormai è morta: non c'era un altro uomo, solo un voto fatto dall'amante, convertitasi durante il blitz.
