Il Re delle isole (1970)
Dopo una lunga carriera al comando di navi schiaviste, il capitano di marina Hoxworth riceve un po' di terra in eredità a Honululu. Abbandona così la vita di mare e tenta di trasformarsi in agricoltore. La lavorazione della terra non gli dà però grandi risultati, ma nel sottosuolo della sua proprietà trova l'acqua. In breve diventa ricchissimo e può così acquistare altri terreni fino a diventare proprietario di quasi tutta l'isola. Nella sua posizione favorisce il passaggio delle Hawaii agli Stati Uniti.
