Sul set di una popolare soap opera diurna "Mile High", l'attrice Kris Buckner viene costretta ad andarsene dal co-protagonista Mark Stratton. Quando dice che lo "ucciderà prima di lasciare lo spettacolo", si rende la principale sospettata quando Stratton viene assassinato da qualcuno che lo avvelena. Da vecchio amico, Perry Mason viene in aiuto di Kris e accetta di difenderla. Nel frattempo Ken va in cerca di informazioni con l'aiuto del fan dello show.
