He Got Game (1998)
Con la promessa di uno sconto di pena Jake (D. Washington), condannato a vent'anni per uxoricidio involontario, ottiene sette giorni di libertà vigilata per tornare a Coney Island e convincere il figlio diciottenne Jesus (R. Allen), famoso e conteso giocatore di pallacanestro delle scuole superiori, ad accettare una borsa di studio della Big State University, cara al cuore del governatore dello Stato. Compito difficile: il figlio - che pur è diventato un campione anche per merito del padre - non gli ha mai perdonato la morte della madre e, forse, nemmeno le torture dei faticosi allenamenti a cui l'ha sottoposto fin da bambino.
