Cybill Lynne Shepherd (nata il 18 febbraio 1950 a Memphis, Tennessee) è un'attrice, cantante ed ex modella statunitense, nota per una carriera che attraversa cinema, televisione e musica. Dopo aver raggiunto il successo nel mondo della moda, dove vinse il titolo di Miss Teenage Memphis nel 1966 e quello di Model of the Year nel 1968, attirò l'attenzione del regista Peter Bogdanovich, che le affidò il suo primo importante ruolo cinematografico in L'ultimo spettacolo (1971). Il film rappresentò il suo debutto sul grande schermo e contribuì a lanciarla nel panorama cinematografico americano. Negli anni successivi consolidò la propria carriera partecipando a film come Il rompicuori (1972), Daisy Miller (1974) e Taxi Driver (1976) di Martin Scorsese, nel quale interpretò Betsy, diventando una delle attrici più riconoscibili della sua generazione. Il successo internazionale arrivò anche attraverso la televisione. Tra il 1985 e il 1989 interpretò Madelyn "Maddie" Hayes nella celebre serie Moonlighting, al fianco di Bruce Willis. La sua interpretazione le valse due Golden Globe come migliore attrice in una serie televisiva. Negli anni Novanta fu protagonista della sitcom Cybill, nella quale interpretò un'attrice alle prese con la propria carriera e la vita personale. Per il suo lavoro nella serie ricevette ulteriori importanti riconoscimenti, tra cui un Golden Globe e diverse candidature agli Emmy Awards.
