Karl Urban (nato il 7 giugno 1972) è un attore neozelandese, conosciuto per il suo carisma e per la versatilità con cui interpreta ruoli d'azione, fantasy e fantascientifici. Dopo gli esordi nella televisione neozelandese, ha raggiunto la notorietà internazionale grazie alla partecipazione a importanti produzioni cinematografiche e televisive. Ha ottenuto grande successo interpretando Éomer nella trilogia de Il Signore degli Anelli e il dottor Leonard "Bones" McCoy nella trilogia reboot di Star Trek. Nel corso della sua carriera ha recitato anche in film come The Bourne Supremacy, Doom, Pathfinder - La leggenda del guerriero vichingo, Red, Dredd, Thor: Ragnarok e Mortal Kombat 2. Grazie alla sua presenza scenica e alla capacità di interpretare personaggi determinati e carismatici, si è affermato come uno dei volti più riconoscibili del cinema d'azione contemporaneo. In televisione ha raggiunto un'enorme popolarità nel ruolo di Billy Butcher nella serie The Boys, interpretazione che gli ha fatto ottenere il plauso della critica e del pubblico.
