Paul Franklin Dano (nato il 19 giugno 1984) è un attore americano. Ha iniziato la sua carriera a Broadway prima di debuttare al cinema in The Newcomers (2000). Ha vinto l'Independent Spirit Award per la Miglior Performance di Debutto per il suo ruolo in L.I.E. (2001) e ha ricevuto riconoscimenti per il ruolo di Dwayne Hoover in Little Miss Sunshine (2006). Per i suoi doppi ruoli di Paul ed Eli Sunday in There Will Be Blood (2007) di Paul Thomas Anderson, è stato nominato al BAFTA Award come miglior attore non protagonista. Dano ha ricevuto anche riconoscimenti per ruoli come John Tibeats in 12 Years a Slave di Steve McQueen (2013) e Alex Jones in Prisoners (2013) di Denis Villeneuve. La sua interpretazione del musicista Brian Wilson in Love & Mercy (2014) gli è valso una nomination ai Golden Globe nella categoria Miglior Attore Non Protagonista. Dano ha debuttato alla regia con il film drammatico Wildlife (2018), basato sul romanzo di Richard Ford. Ha co-scritto la sceneggiatura con la sua compagna Zoe Kazan. Nel 2018 ha recitato nella miniserie di Showtime Escape at Dannemora, per la quale ha ricevuto una nomination ai Primetime Emmy Award come Miglior Attore Non Protagonista in una Miniserie o Film. Nel 2022 ha interpretato Edward Nashton / L'Enigmista in The Batman.
