Eric William Dane (nato Eric William Melvin; 9 novembre 1972 – 19 febbraio 2026) è stato un attore americano. Dopo diversi ruoli televisivi negli anni '90 e 2000, incluso il ruolo ricorrente di Jason Dean in Charmed, uno dei suoi ruoli più noti è stato quello del Dr. Mark Sloan 'Dr. McSteamy' nel dramma medico ABC Grey's Anatomy (2006–2012; 2021). Ha inoltre interpretato il Capitano Tom Chandler nella serie TNT The Last Ship (2014–2018), Cal Jacobs nella serie drammatica HBO Euphoria (2019–2026) e l'agente speciale dell'FBI Nathan Blythe nella serie poliziesca Countdown (2025) di Amazon Prime Video. È apparso in film come X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), Marley & Me (2008), San Valentino (2010), Burlesque (2010) e Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024). Ad aprile 2025 ha annunciato di essere stato diagnosticato con sclerosi laterale amiotrofica (SLA). Ha detto che i suoi sintomi erano iniziati circa diciotto mesi prima. A giugno 2025 aveva completamente perso l'uso del braccio destro e a ottobre 2025 utilizzava una sedia a rotelle. È morto il 19 febbraio 2026, all'età di 53 anni.
