Lesley Manville è nata il 12 marzo 1956 a Brighton, East Sussex, Inghilterra. È un'attrice pluripremiata di teatro, cinema e televisione, e ha lavorato ampiamente con il regista Mike Leigh. È conosciuta per Another Year (2010), All or Nothing (2002), Topsy-Turvy (1999) e Secrets & Lies (1996), oltre che per la sua interpretazione in Phantom Thread (2017), candidato all'Oscar come miglior attrice non protagonista. Ha anche avuto un ruolo di supporto in Malefica (2014). La lunga carriera teatrale di Manville include ruoli in Come vi piace, Les Liaisons Dangereuses e L'Alchimista. Il suo debutto cinematografico è stato in Dance with a Stranger (1985).
