Backstreet Dreams (1990)
Gevangen in het web van geweld, afpersing en drugs in de binnenstad, is Dean Costello een kleine gangster met grote dromen voor zichzelf en zijn autistische zoon, Shane. Wanneer zijn huwelijk met Ludy uit elkaar valt, vertellen de artsen Dean dat er geen hoop is voor zijn zoon, hij wendt zich tot een rijke kinderpsycholoog, Stephanie "Stevie" Bloom, in een laatste poging om Shane te bereiken. Stevie probeert Dean ervan te overtuigen dat hij zich moet binden aan Shane en zijn leven op straat moet achterlaten. Maar Dean"s gewelddadige wereld blijft hem achtervolgen en dreigt de dromen die hij heeft voor zijn zoon, voor zichzelf en voor Stevie te vernietigen. In een laatste gevecht moet hij het opnemen tegen een overweldigende overmacht... alleen.
