East of Sumatra (1953)
In de diepe jungle van een exotisch Zuidzee-eiland komt een handvol blanken buiten hun schuld in conflict met de inboorlingen. Wanneer de jaloezie van het stamhoofd voor de leider van de blanken wordt toegevoegd, is de strijd onvermijdelijk. Het wordt uitgevochten als een 'strijd der koningen', leider tegen leider. De film biedt vertrouwde elementen van het jungle- en jungle-avontuur, begeleid door min of meer authentieke muziek en aangevuld met folkloristische inkijkjes in de tribale gebruiken ergens ten oosten van Sumatra.
