Motorraces die worden gehouden op afgesloten openbare wegen zijn het gevaarlijkst van alle racesporten. Coureurs snellen langs bomen en stenen muurtjes. Slechts op twee plekken ter wereld wordt deze sport nog uitgeoefend: Ierland en het eiland Man.
