In het Oude Westen staat een outlaw genaamd Sam Phoenix op het punt te worden opgehangen. Maar net voordat de strop strakker wordt, wordt de stad belegerd door een dodelijke buitenaardse indringer met een laserschietende pijlstaartrog en een gekke Sarlacc-mond. De stedelingen haasten zich, maar worden prompt gedood, met uitzondering van een handvol overlevenden onder leiding van Phoenix.
