The Dresser (1983)
Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog moet een voormalig beroemd kunstenaar, Sir (Albert Finney), zich tevreden stellen met het leiden van een groep slordige en afgewezen acteurs in uitvoeringen van Shakespeare-stukken. Zijn angst, spijt en ouderdom beginnen hun tol te eisen en zijn werk begint te verkommeren. Alleen Norman (Tom Courtenay), zijn verlegen bediende, die onvermoeibaar toegewijd is aan Sir, kan de show draaiende houden, terwijl deze dreigt te sluiten.
