An Audience of Chairs (2018)
Maura Mackenzie gelooft dat zij de wereld moet veroveren. Nu haar carrière als concertpianiste in een stroomversnelling komt, lijkt het erop dat haar schoonheid en talent sterk genoeg zullen zijn om de demonen te maskeren die haar dreigen te overspoelen. Maar met een afwezige echtgenoot en twee jonge dochters thuis begint haar onzekere geestelijke gezondheid te wankelen, totdat ze op een zomerdag, brandend van manische energie, een vreselijke fout maakt – een fout die haar leven voor altijd zal veranderen. De gevolgen voor Maura zijn catastrofaal: haar ambitieuze echtgenoot rent voor zijn leven en neemt de kinderen mee, waardoor Maura volledig instort. Het leven zoals ze het kende is nu voorbij. Met de hulp van haar vader, Ian, probeert Maura haar leven terug te winnen en wacht ze op een wonder om haar dochters thuis te brengen. Maar als het lot op één lijn ligt, kan het verleden dan vergeven worden?
