Black Coffee (1931)
Black Coffee is een Britse detectivefilm uit 1931, geregisseerd door Leslie S. Hiscott. Gebaseerd op het toneelstuk Black Coffee uit 1930 van Agatha Christie met haar beroemde privédetective Hercule Poirot, met Austin Trevor als Poirot en Richard Cooper als zijn metgezel Captain Hastings. Een beroemde maar gehate wetenschapper, Sir Amory, wordt vermoord tijdens een huisfeest, en enkele van zijn waardevolle papieren ontbreken. Poirot stelt snel de doodsoorzaak en het motief vast, en herleidt vervolgens de verdachten tot de meest waarschijnlijke dader.
