Maria's Lovers (1984)
Brownsville, Pennsylvania, kort na beëindiging van de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Ivan Bibic heeft de martelingen en vernederingen in een Japans kamp alleen kunnen doorstaan door continu aan zijn jeugdliefde Maria Bosic te denken Als hij terugkeert naar Brownsville moet hij vaststellen dat Maria inmiddels een volwassen en mooie jonge vrouw geworden is. Ivan en Maria trouwen, maar Ivans oorlogstrauma leidt tot impotentie en emotionele blokkades. Hun huwelijk komt hierdoor onder grote spanning te staan en Ivan verlaat Maria. De eenzame Maria laat zich vervolgens verleiden door de rondtrekkende muzikant en rokkenjager Clarence Butts en raakt zwanger van hem.
