Michael Corbett Shannon (geboren 7 augustus 1974) is een Amerikaanse acteur, producent, muzikant en theaterregisseur. Hij is tweemaal genomineerd voor een Academy Award voor Beste Bijrolacteur voor zijn rollen in het kostuumdrama Revolutionary Road (2008) van Sam Mendes en de psychologische thriller Nocturnal Animals (2016) van Tom Ford. Hij ontving nominaties voor een Screen Actors Guild Award en een Golden Globe Award voor zijn rol in 99 Homes (2014), en een Tony Award-nominatie voor Beste Bijrolacteur in een toneelstuk voor de Broadway-revival van Eugene O'Neills Long Day's Journey into Night (2016). Shannon maakte zijn filmdebuut in 1993 met Groundhog Day en kreeg veel lof voor zijn rol in 8 Mile (2002). Hij staat bekend om zijn veelzijdigheid op het scherm en speelde in zowel komedies als drama's, zoals Pearl Harbor (2001), Bad Boys II (2003), Bug (2006), Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007), Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009), The Iceman (2012), Premium Rush (2012), The Night Before (2015), The Shape of Water (2017) en Knives Out (2019).
