Daniel Wroughton Craig (geboren op 2 maart 1968) is een Engelse acteur. Hij verwierf internationale bekendheid door zijn vertolking van de fictieve geheim agent James Bond in vijf films uit de Bond-reeks: Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015) en No Time to Die (2021). Na een opleiding bij het National Youth Theatre in Londen en zijn afstuderen aan de Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1991, begon Craig zijn carrière in het theater. Zijn filmdebuut maakte hij in het drama The Power of One (1992), waarna hij zijn doorbraak beleefde met de dramaserie Our Friends in the North (1996). Vervolgens kreeg hij meer bekendheid door bijrollen in films als Elizabeth (1998), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Road to Perdition (2002), Layer Cake (2004) en Munich (2005). In 2006 speelde Craig James Bond in Casino Royale, een herstart van de Bond-franchise die positief werd ontvangen door critici en hem een nominatie opleverde voor de BAFTA Award voor Beste Acteur in een Hoofdrol. Zijn niet-Bondrollen daarna omvatten onder meer de fantasyfilm The Golden Compass (2007), het drama Defiance (2008), de sciencefictionwestern Cowboys & Aliens (2011), de mysterieuze thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) en de overvalfilm Logan Lucky (2017). Voor zijn rol als detective Benoit Blanc in de filmreeks Knives Out (2019, 2022) ontving hij twee nominaties voor een Golden Globe Award. In het theater speelde Craig onder meer in de West End-productie van Angels in America (1993) van het Royal National Theatre. Hij maakte zijn Broadway-debuut met het toneelstuk A Steady Rain (2009) en keerde later terug naar Broadway in hernemingen van Harold Pinters Betrayal (2011) en William Shakespeares Macbeth (2022). Daarnaast vertolkte hij de rol van Iago in de productie van Othello bij de New York Theatre Workshop (2016).
