Альфред Молина родился в британской столице Лондоне, в семье выходцев из Испании и Италии. Альфред окончил высшую школу драматического и музыкального искусства в Гвилдхоле. С 1975 года по 1995 год Альфред Молина - актер Королевского национального театра в Лондоне, а с 1998 года он выступал на Бродвее. С 1978 года Молина снимался в незначительных ролях в телесериалах и телефильмах. Его дебютом на большом экране стала роль проводника-предателя в приключенческом фильме "В поисках затерянного ковчега" Стивена Спилберга в 1981 году. Главные роли в фильме сыграли актеры: Харрисон Форд, Карен Аллен, Пол Фримен и Денхолм Эллиотт. Захватывающий сюжет смотрелся на одном дыхании. Известный археолог и специалист по оккультным наукам доктор Джонс от правительства США получил опасное задание: найти уникальную реликвию - священный Ковчег. Альфред Молина продолжал активно участвовать в съемках английских телесериалах и играть второстепенные роли в кино. Первой его заметной работой стала роль русского моряка Сергея в картине 1985 года "Письмо к Брежневу". В 1991 году Альфред Молина дал согласие на участие в съемках драмы "Только не без моей дочери" с Салли Филд в главной роли. Главная героиня фильма - американка Бетти Махмуди - замужем за американским врачом-анестезиологом иранского происхождения доктором Махмуди и они воспитывали четырехлетнюю дочь Матоб. Но у Махмуди начались проблемы... Вместе с Мэлом Гибсоном, Джоди Фостер, Джеймсом Гарнером, Грэмом Грином Альфред Молина отработал главные роли в комедии 1994 года "Мэверик". В следующем году Альфред Молина из Лондона переехал в США, где начал активно сниматься в коммерческом кино: "Особь", "Мертвец". Широкую популярность актер завоевал исполнением драматической роли в экранизации романа Льва Толстого "Анна Каренина". Снявшись почти одновременно в трех фильмах – "Знаменитость" Вуди Алена, "Самозванцы" Стэнли Тучи и "Наслаждение" Джонатана Джемса, Альфред Молина также нашел время, чтобы сняться в популярном фильме "Спасатели: истории мужества".
