Nach Manhattan gekommen, glaubt sich Celebrity-Autor Sidney Young am Ziel seiner Träume. Doch der tolpatschige Brite eckt überall an, verschreckt die arrogante Szene mit unterentwickelten Umgangsformen. Als er sich an Heuchelei und Oberflächlichkeit anpasst, steigt er unaufhaltsam auf, verliert dabei aber das Wichtigste aus den Augen: seine Kollegin Alison.
