Grand Canyon - Im Herzen der Stadt (1991)
Mack gerät in eine brenzlige Situation, als sein Wagen ausgerechnet in einem Schwarzenviertel von Los Angeles stehenbleibt. Der schwarze Mechaniker Simon erweist sich als rettender Engel. Aus Dankbarkeit verschafft Mack dem alleinerziehenden Vater ein Rendezvous. Macks Frau Claire findet indes beim Joggen in einem Gebüsch ein Baby, das sie behalten will, um damit die Leere in ihrem Leben zu füllen, die das Erwachsenwerden ihres Sohnes mit sich bringt. Macks Freund Davis, ein Produzent ultrabrutaler Actionfilme, überdenkt sein Leben, als er bei einem Überfall angeschossen wird. Bei einem gemeinsamen Besuch des Grand Canyons versuchen Mack und Simon Abstand von ihrer täglichen Lebensangst im urbanen Moloch L.A. zu gewinnen.
