Jack wirkte in über 60 Spielfilmen mit, darunter „Men in Black II“. Eine seiner einprägsamsten Rollen war die des Denny in „Love Liza“, eines energiegeladenen Modellbauers, der Philip Seymour Hoffmans Figur hilft, den Selbstmord seiner Frau zu verarbeiten. Auch in „The Big Lebowski“ hatte er eine kurze, aber unvergessliche Rolle als Vermieter des Dude (Jeff Bridges). Er war als Gaststar in der „Star Trek: Deep Space Nine“-Folge „Babel“ und in der „Angel“-Folge „Long Day’s Journey“ zu sehen. 1995 spielte er Mr. Chase in der „Babylon 5“-Folge „Comes the Inquisitor“.
