Knowing - Die Zukunft endet jetzt (2009)

Im Jahr 1959 wird auf Anregung von Lucinda Embry, einer Schülerin einer neu eröffneten Grundschule, eine Zeitkapsel vergraben, in der die Schüler ihre Wünsche und Visionen für die Zukunft einschließen sollen, die sie in Form von Bildern gemalt haben. Als die Zeitkapsel 2009 wieder geöffnet wird, werden die Bilder unter den heutigen Schülern verteilt, nur Lucindas Aufzeichnungen landen bei dem jungen Caleb Koestler, der sich jedoch statt Bildern mehreren Seiten mit endlosen Zahlenreihen gegenüber sieht. Dessen Vater John, ein Astrophysiker, kann nach einer Weile die Kolonnen entschlüsseln und hält somit Aufzeichnungen über alle großen Katastrophen auf diesem Planeten der letzten 50 Jahre in den Händen. Nur drei stehen noch aus, doch die letzte wird den ganzen Planeten bedrohen...
