Schmetterling und Taucherglocke (2007)
Jean-Dominique Bauby, der Chefredakteur der französischen Elle, ist 43 Jahre alt, als er 1995 ohne jegliche Vorwarnung einen Gehirnschlag erleidet. Fortan ist sein gesamter Körper gelähmt. Er kann nicht mehr sprechen. Seine einzige Möglichkeit zur Kommunikation ist das linke Auge, das er noch kontrollieren kann. Mittels Lidschlag beginnt Bauby seine Memoiren zu diktieren und eloquent davon zu berichten, wie es ist, ein Mann zu sein, der in seinem Körper gefangen ist - und entdeckt, dass er nun viel freier ist als zuvor.
