Wish I Was Here (2014)
Aidan Bloom muss sich eingestehen, dass er vom amerikanischen Traum bestenfalls träumen kann: Als weißer Schauspieler in L.A. bewirbt er sich mittlerweile sogar um Rollen für afroamerikanische Figuren. Daher muss seine Frau Sarah das Geld verdienen, die neben ihrem Full-Time-Job auch noch den Haushalt sowie das Familienleben meistert. Sein Bruder ist auch keine große Hilfe – er ist zwar ein Genie, hat sich aber in seinen Wohnwagen verkrochen und surft als Kobold durchs Netz. Und als Aidans Vater ihm zu all seinem „Glück“ auch noch unterbreitet, dass er nicht länger für die Privatschule seiner beiden Enkel aufkommen kann, sieht Aidan nur einen Ausweg: er beschließt spontan, die Kinder selbst zu unterrichten.
