A Kind of Murder (2016)
New York in den 1960er Jahren: Walter Stackhouse (Patrick Wilson) ist ein erfolgreicher Architekt und Hobby-Krimiautor, der jedoch unglücklich mit der Immobilienmaklerin Clara (Jessica Biel) verheiratet ist. Während seine Ehe aufgrund einer Affäre mit der Jazzsängerin Ellie (Haley Bennett) kurz vor dem Ende steht, ist Walter immer mehr von der Geschichte eines Buchhändlers fasziniert, der seine Frau umgebracht haben soll. Walter stellt sich vor, wie es wäre, wenn er seine eigene Frau töten würde – natürlich ist das nur ein hypothetisches Gedankenspiel aus Frustration. Doch dann wird Clara tatsächlich tot aufgefunden und plötzlich ist Walter der Hauptverdächtige. Und obwohl er seine Unschuld beteuert, wird es für ihn immer schwieriger, diese zu beweisen. Langsam verstrickt sich Walter in zunehmend zweifelhaften Aussagen und Gedanken. Könnte er vielleicht doch etwas mit Claras Tod zu tun haben?
