Straße der Rache (1995)
Fabrikarbeiter Louis (John Travolta) rächt sich für seine Entlassung. Sozialdrama Mit dem süßen Leben ist es vorbei: Louis Pinnock (John Travolta), Arbeiter beim Schokoladenhersteller Thomas (Harry Belafonte), wird wegen eines Missverständnisses gefeuert. Die bitteren Folgen: Bald kann Louis seine Miete nicht mehr zahlen, und Gattin Marsha (Kelly Lynch) verlässt ihn. Schließlich hat der weiße Proletarier nichts mehr zu verlieren. Er entführt den schwarzen Kapitalisten Thomas, um zu fordern, was ihm zusteht… Regisseur und Autor Desmond Nakano, der 1988 das Skript zu „Letzte Ausfahrt Brooklyn“ schrieb, kehrt Klassengegensätze und Rassismus einfach um. Jetzt verprügeln farbige Cops weiße Jungs. Ausgelutschte Stereotypen verhindern dabei jedoch eine neue Sicht auf die Problematik.
