Malibu, Kalifornien: Die wohlhabende Earnshaw-Familie adoptiert den problembehafteten Teenager Heath (Andrew Jacobs). Sehr zum Missfallen der gehobenen Kreise, in denen die Familie verkehrt und besonders zur Verbitterung ihres Freundes Eddie (Matthew Boehm), verliebt sich Cathy (Paloma Kwiatkowski), die Tochter Earnshaws, Hals über Kopf in den Neuankömmling. Von ihren starken Gefühlen überwältigt, nimmt sie Heath‘ dunkle Seite erst wahr, als es schon zu spät ist.
