Safe (1995)
Die amerikanische Hausfrau Carol führt in L.A. an der Seite ihres reichen Ehemannes Greg ein langweiliges, aber zufriedenes Leben - bis sie eines Tages über Kopfschmerzen klagt, sich krank und elend fühlt. Ein Zustand, der sich noch verschlimmert. Carol reagiert allergisch auf Umweltgifte wie Auspuffgase, Zigarettenqualm, Pestizide in Lebensmitteln und chemische Stoffe in ihren Schönheitscremes. Nachts weist sie ihren liebeshungrigen Mann zurück und streift ruhelos durchs Haus. Doch alle Ärzte halten Carol für gesund. In ihrer Verzweiflung sucht sie Hilfe in einem dubiosen " New Age " Behandlungszentrum in New Mexico.
