Brown Sugar (2002)
Sidney und Dre können den Beginn ihrer Freundschaft und den Grundstein für ihre Karrieren einem ganz bestimmten Moment in ihrer Kindheit zuschreiben: als sie gemeinsam den HipHop an einer New Yorker Straßenecke für sich entdeckten. Heute, 15 Jahre später, kreuzen sich ihre Wege wieder, und sie wären eigentlich das perfekte Paar. Sidney kehrt als anerkannte Musikredakteurin der LA Times nach New York zurück und wird Herausgeberin eines HipHop Magazins, Dre ist ein erfolgreicher Plattenproduzent bei einem New Yorker Label. Nur ist Dre mit der attraktiven Reese verheiratet und Sidney mit Basektballstar Kelby liiert.
