Wendell Pierce (*8. Dezember 1963 in New Orleans, Louisiana) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, der durch seine Rollen in Film und Fernsehen bekannt wurde. Besonders berühmt ist er für seine Darstellung des Detective Bunk Moreland in der HBO-Serie The Wire (2002–2008) und des Antoine Batiste in Treme (2010–2013). Pierce wuchs in New Orleans auf und studierte Schauspiel an der Juilliard School in New York. Seine Karriere begann in den späten 1980er Jahren mit Nebenrollen in Filmen wie Die Verdammten des Krieges (1989) und Family Business (1989). In den 1990er Jahren spielte er in Produktionen wie 2 Millionen Dollar Trinkgeld (1994), Hackers – Im Netz des FBI (1995) und Sleepers (1996). Seinen Durchbruch hatte er mit The Wire, einer der meistgelobten Serien aller Zeiten. Danach folgten weitere erfolgreiche TV-Rollen, darunter in Suits (2013–2019) als Robert Zane, Ray Donovan (2014–2015) und Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan (2018–2023) als James Greer. Auch im Kino war Pierce aktiv. Er spielte in Selma (2014) als Rev. Hosea Williams, in Kill the Boss (2011) als Detective Hagan und in Breaking Dawn – Biss zum Ende der Nacht, Teil 2 (2012) als J. Jenks. In den letzten Jahren war er in Serien wie Chicago P.D. (2017–2020), The Watch (2021) und Elsbeth (seit 2024) zu sehen. 2025 wird er in Thunderbolts und Superman als Perry White auftreten. Pierce engagiert sich für soziale Projekte und setzt sich für die Förderung von afroamerikanischen Künstlern in der Filmindustrie ein.
