Selma (2014)
Als am 17. Februar 1965 ein Schwarzer von der Polizei niedergeschossen wird und anschließend seinen Verletzungen erliegt, explodiert der Unmut über systematische Diskriminierungen. Bürgerrechtler Martin Luther King Jr. will das nicht hinnehmen und einen Protestmarsch von der Stadt Selma nach Montgomery organisieren. Doch sein Vorhaben wird erschwert: Präsident Lyndon B. Johnson ist nur schwer zu überzeugen und wiegelt mit dem Argument ab, dass das Problem der Schwarzen nicht so wichtig sei. Und George Wallace, Gouverneur von Alabama, geht sogar noch weiter und will alle Bemühungen von King und seinen Anhängern sabotieren. Zu allem Überfluss muss sich King auch noch privaten Problemen stellen, als plötzlich Anschuldigungen laut werden, er wäre seiner Frau untreu gewesen...
