Marshall (2017)
Thurgood Marshall wird einst der erste schwarze Richter im US-amerikanischen Supreme Court werden. Doch am Anfang seiner Karriere als Anwalt ist es bis dorthin noch ein weiter Weg für ihn. Dennoch ist es ein ganz besonderer Gerichtsprozess, der in den 1930ern die Weichen für Marshalls weitere Karriere stellt. Die Welt steht kurz vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Die NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), also die Vereinigung zur Förderung und Unterstützung Farbiger in den USA, ist fast bankrott, was nichts Gutes für den schwarzen Anwalt Thurgood Marshall bedeutet. Er wird ins konservative Connecticut entsendet, wo er einen schwarzen Chauffeur gegen dessen reichen weißen Arbeitgeber verteidigen soll. Seinem Klienten wird Vergewaltigung und versuchter Mord vorgeworfen.
