Eva ist seit sechs Wochen glücklich verheiratet, als eine schockierende Nachricht das private und berufliche Leben der professionellen Eheberaterin gleichermaßen auf den Kopf stellt. Nach ziemlich genau 30 gemeinsamen Ehejahren nämlich möchte sich Evas Mutter scheiden lassen. Und das, obwohl Eva die Ehe ihrer Eltern immer als die perfekte Beziehung idealisiert hat. Jetzt ist guter Rat teuer, und der muss natürlich von Eva kommen. Ihre diplomatischen Interventionen und Manipulationsversuche aber bleiben nicht ohne Folgen für die eigene Beziehung.
