Bei den Dreharbeiten zu einer beliebten Seifenoper kommt es zu einem Eklat zwischen dem Darsteller Mark Stratton (Sean Kanan) und seiner jungen Kollegin Kris Buckner (Genie Francis). Bevor sie das Set verlässt, droht Kris Bruckner vor mehreren Zeugen, dass sie Stratton umbringen werde. Kurz darauf wird Stratton tatsächlich ermordet aufgefunden, und Kris Buckner ist die Hauptverdächtige. Ihr alter Freund Perry Mason (Raymond Burr) glaubt, dass Kris unschuldig ist und übernimmt ihre Verteidigung. Ken (William R. Moses) versucht derweil, über einen Fan der Serie an mehr Informationen zu gelangen.
