Douglas Spencer (eigentlich William Henry Mesenkop), war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler. Spencer arbeitete ab Ende der 1930er Jahre als Lichtdouble für Ray Milland, wodurch er bei vielen von Millands Filmen kleinere Rollen erhielt. Es vergingen fast zehn Jahre, bevor er erstmals 1948 als Arzt im Film noir Die Nacht hat tausend Augen im Abspann eines Filmes genannt wurde. Im Western Mein großer Freund Shane spielte er eine weitere Nebenrolle. Seine bekannteste Rolle jedoch wurde 1951 die des Reporters Ned Scott im Science-Fiction-Film-Klassiker Das Ding aus einer anderen Welt. Danach spielte er 1955 mit Metaluna IV antwortet nicht in einem weiteren Klassiker des Science-Fiction-Films. In Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank stellte er 1959 Harry Kraler dar. Kurz vor seinem Tod an den Folgen seiner Diabeteserkrankung spielte er noch einige Gastrollen in Fernsehserien wie Westlich von Santa Fé und Bonanza.
