Spiel mit dem Tode (1948)
Der Workaholic George Stroud arbeitet als Redakteur für das Magazin Crimeways, dass sich mit der medienwirksamen jagt auf Gesuchte und Vermisste beschäftigt. Doch seine pausenlose Arbeit beginnt ihren Tribut zu fordern. Erst verpasst er den (bereits lange verschobenen) Hochzeitsurlaub mit seiner Frau. Und als er sich daraufhin zusammen mit einer sexy Blondine betrinkt, wird diese am nächsten Tag auch noch tot in ihrer Wohnung aufgefunden, erschlagen mit einer gewaltigen Sonnenuhr. Und als George dann mit seinem Team auf die Ermittlung des Täters angesetzt wird, muss er feststellen, dass die Indizien nur den Schluss zulassen, dass er selbst der Täter ist...
