Robert Francis Hoy war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, Stuntman und Regisseur. Er diente im Zweiten Weltkrieg bei den Marines. Bobby Hoys Karriere umfasste 55 Jahre, zunächst als Stuntman, dann als Schauspieler und Regisseur. Er war Stuntdouble für Stars wie Tony Curtis, Charles Bronson, Audie Murphy, Tyrone Power, David Janssen, Telly Savalas und Jay Silverheels. Er wirkte in über 67 Filmen mit, darunter „Bite the Bullet“, „Der Texaner“, „Die Legende des Lone Ranger“, „Der Spieler II“, „Nevada Smith“, „Bronco Billy“, „Der Vollstrecker“ und „Das große Rennen“. Im Fernsehen spielte Hoy in über 75 Fernsehsendungen mit, darunter „High Chaparral“, wo er von 1967 bis 1971 Joe Butler verkörperte. Weitere Engagements umfassen „Combat!“, „Bat Masterson“, „Wanted: Dead or Alive“, „Walker, Texas Ranger“, „JAG“, „Dallas“ (wiederkehrende Rolle), „The Wild Wild West“, „Wonder Woman“ (2 Folgen), „Magnum, P.I.“ (5 Folgen), „The Young Riders“ und „Zorro“. 1961 war er Gründungsmitglied der Stuntman's Association of Motion Pictures. Der Regisseur und langjährige Freund Raymond Austin holte Hoy für die Fernsehserie Zorro und den Pilotfilm Die drei Musketiere als Second-Unit-Regisseur und Stuntkoordinator in Spanien hinter die Kamera.
