Sylvia May Laura Syms, OBE war eine englische Film-, Fernseh- und Theaterschauspielerin. Sie zählte von Mitte der 1950er bis Mitte der 1960er Jahre zu den prägendsten Schauspielerinnen des englischen Films und wurde für ihre Rolle in „Die Frau im Morgenrock“ (1957) für einen BAFTA Award nominiert. Bekannt ist sie auch für ihre Rollen in Filmen wie „Feuersturm über Afrika“ (1958), „Fähre nach Hongkong“ (1959), „Der Teufelskreis“ (1961) und „Die Frucht des Tropenbaumes“ (1974).
