George Richard Chamberlain war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler und Sänger, der in den 1960er-Jahren durch die Titelrolle in der Arztserie Dr. Kildare bekannt wurde. 1980 spielte er die Hauptrolle in der Miniserie Shogun. Eine seiner berühmtesten Rollen ist die des Pfarrers Ralph de Bricassart in dem weltweit erfolgreichen Fernsehmehrteiler Die Dornenvögel. Für diese drei Rollen bekam er jeweils den Golden Globe.
