Richard „Dick“ Elliott (30. April 1886 – 22. Dezember 1961) war ein US-amerikanischer Charakterdarsteller, der von den 1930er Jahren bis zu seinem Tod in über 240 Filmen mitwirkte. Er wurde als Richard Damon Elliott in Boston, Massachusetts, geboren. Elliott verkörperte viele verschiedene Rollen, meist etwas aufbrausende Charaktere, beispielsweise Politiker. Der kleine, korpulente Elliott spielte den Weihnachtsmann in den Shows von Jimmy Durante, Red Skelton und Jack Benny. In „Ist das Leben nicht schön?“ (1946) hatte Elliott einige unvergessliche Dialogzeilen, in denen er James Stewart, der Donna Reed Gute Nacht sagen wollte, zurechtwies und ihm riet, nicht länger zu zögern und sie endlich zu küssen. Auch in einigen Folgen der Fernsehserie „Die Abenteuer von Superman“ hatte er denkwürdige Gastauftritte. Er trat dreimal als Stanley in der CBS-Sitcom „December Bride“ auf und war außerdem in zwei Westernserien von ABC/Warner Brothers, „Sugarfoot“ und „Maverick“, zu sehen. In zwei Episoden der CBS-Serie „Tales of the Texas Rangers“ verkörperte er den Goldsucher Peter Cooper und anschließend Sheriff Tiny Morris. In der ABC-Serie „The Real McCoys“ spielte er zweimal Doc Thornton. Elliott ist wohl am bekanntesten für seine Rolle als Bürgermeister Pike in Mayberry in frühen Folgen der CBS-Serie „The Andy Griffith Show“, einer seiner letzten Filmrollen. In zwei der elf Folgen, in denen Elliott Bürgermeister war, spielte die Schauspielerin Josie Lloyd seine Tochter. Am 22. Dezember 1961 starb Elliott an einer Herzkrankheit.
