Nachdem er das Bein des Mörders John Wilkes Booth geheilt hat, der für das am 14. April 1865 während einer Vorstellung im Ford's Theatre in Washington verübte Attentat auf Präsident Abraham Lincoln verantwortlich ist, wird Dr. Samuel A.
