Alison Steadman (* 26. August 1946) ist eine englische Schauspielerin. Sie gewann 1991 den Preis der National Society of Film Critics als Beste Hauptdarstellerin für den Film „Life is Sweet“ von Mike Leigh (ihr Ehemann von 1973 bis 2001) und 1993 den Olivier Award als Beste Hauptdarstellerin für ihre Rolle als Mari in der Originalproduktion von „The Rise and Fall of Little Voice“. In einer 2007 von Channel 4 ausgestrahlten Umfrage zu den „50 größten Schauspielern“, bei der Schauspielerkollegen ihre Rollen wählten, belegte sie Platz 42. Steadman gab 1968 ihr professionelles Bühnendebüt und etablierte sich anschließend in Mike Leighs Fernsehspielen „Nuts in May“ (1976) und „Abigail's Party“ (1977) in den 1970er Jahren. Sie erhielt BAFTA-TV-Award-Nominierungen für die BBC-Serie „The Singing Detective“ (1986) und 2001 für die ITV-Dramaserie „Fat Friends“ (2000–2005). Zu ihren weiteren Fernsehrollen zählen Auftritte in „Stolz und Vorurteil“ (1995), „Gavin & Stacey“ (2007–2010, 2019) und „Orphan Black“ (2015–2016). Im Kino war sie unter anderem in „A Private Function“ (1984), „Clockwise“ (1986), „Shirley Valentine“ (1989), „Topsy Turvy“ (1999) und „Das Leben und Sterben des Peter Sellers“ (2004) zu sehen.
