Denver Dell Pyle (11. Mai 1920 – 25. Dezember 1997) war ein US-amerikanischer Film- und Fernsehschauspieler. Bekannt wurde er durch seine Rolle als Briscoe Darling Jr. in mehreren Folgen der „Andy Griffith Show“ und als Jesse Duke in der Sitcom „Ein Duke kommt selten allein“ (1979–1985). Pyle wurde am 11. Mai 1920 in Bethune, Colorado, als Sohn des Landwirts Ben H. Pyle und seiner Frau Maude geboren. Sein Bruder Willis war Animator und arbeitete unter anderem für die Walt Disney Animation Studios und UPA. Nach seinem Highschool-Abschluss besuchte Pyle kurz die Colorado State University, brach das Studium jedoch ab, um ins Showgeschäft einzusteigen. 1940 zog er nach Los Angeles. Dort arbeitete er als Schlagzeuger und Bandmitglied, bis die Vereinigten Staaten in den Zweiten Weltkrieg eintraten und er sich zur US-Marine meldete. Pyle wurde in der Schlacht um Guadalcanal verwundet und 1942 aus medizinischen Gründen aus dem Militärdienst entlassen. Gegen Ende des Krieges diente er in der US-Handelsmarine. 1955 heiratete Pyle Marilee Carpenter, eine Produktionsassistentin bei 20th Century Fox. Sie hatten die Söhne David und Tony. Marilee und Denver ließen sich 1970 scheiden. 1983 heiratete Pyle Tippie Johnston. Diese Ehe hielt bis zu seinem Tod. Pyle starb an Weihnachten 1997 an Lungenkrebs. Die Trauerfeier fand am 6. Januar 1998 in der First Baptist Church in Waxahachie, Texas, statt. Er ist auf dem Friedhof von Forreston, Texas, in einem anonymen Grab beigesetzt. Seine sterblichen Überreste ruhen neben denen der Eltern seiner zweiten Ehefrau, J.T. Johnston und Erin Birch Johnston.
