Jamie Lee Curtis, 1958 in Santa Monica geboren, ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspierin, die vor allem aus Horrorfilmen und Komödien bekannt ist. Die Tochter von Tony Curtis und Janet Leigh feiert ihr Filmdebüt 1978 mit dem Slasherfilm Halloween – Die Nacht des Grauens. Da Curtis in den folgenden Jahren ausschließlich in Horrorfilmen wie The Fog – Nebel des Grauens und Prom Night – Das Grauen kommt um Mitternacht zu sehen ist, bekommt sie den Titel der Scream-Queen. Mit der erfolgreichen Komödie Die Glücksritter kann sie 1983 auch in einem anderen Genre einen Erfolg verbuchen. Für die Hauptrolle im heutigen Kultfilm Ein Fisch namens Wanda wird Jamie Lee Curtis 1988 zum ersten Mal für einen Golden Globe nominiert. Zu Beginn der 90er gehört die US-Amerikanerin mit Engagements in Blockbustern wie My Girl – Meine erste Liebe, Forever Young und True Lies – Wahre Lügen zu den begehrtesten Stars in Hollywood.
