Le citadin Egghead rêve d’être un cow-boy, mais ses rebondissements le font virer de sa pension. Il voit une annonce pour un ranch à la recherche d’un cow-boy et postule. Son essai comprend des tests d’adresse au tir et l’utilisation d’un fer à marquer, mais la plupart consistent à poursuivre et à attacher un petit veau gênant. Il passe le test, mais le travail n’est pas exactement ce dont il rêvait.
