Que le meilleur l'emporte (1964)
Le parti du Président américain se réunit en convention afin de choisir quel sera le candidat pour la prochaine élection. Cinq hommes se présentent mais deux seulement sont favoris : William Russell est un intellectuel issu de l’élite et semble le mieux armé pour l’emporter. Mais face à lui se dresse Joe Cantwell, outsider proche du peuple et prêt à tout pour renverser la tendance. Pour arbitrer ce duel, le Président Hockstader doit jouer un rôle prépondérant en apportant son soutien à l’un des deux prétendants...
