The Villain Still Pursued Her (1940)
Le mélodrame victorien obtient un grand envoi dans cette production parodie de la vieille pièce "The Drunkard; or, The Fallen Saved". La pièce dans le film est l'ancienne où le méchant méchant Cribbs envisage de mettre ses griffes vigoureuses sur l'héroïne en conduisant son mari naïf à la ruine alcoolique. Heureusement, un conférencier en tempérance est sur place pour mettre les choses au clair, tout comme le grand Buster Keaton en tant qu'ami de l'ivrogne.
